About Me:

With over 23 years of dedicated experience in rangeland management working for public agencies like the U.S. Forest Service and Department of Defense, I bring a unique depth of knowledge to sustainable land stewardship. My expertise lies in developing and implementing science-based livestock grazing plans that seamlessly integrate habitat conservation, wildfire fuel reduction, and improved rangeland health—all while ensuring the economic viability for livestock producers.

I possess extensive experience across diverse rangeland types, from California's annual grasslands and oak savannas to montane meadows and intermountain rangelands. Beyond grazing, my background includes comprehensive experience developing invasive weed management, habitat restoration, and fuels management projects. I've also served as a wildland fire resource advisor and GIS specialist, offering a holistic perspective on land challenges.

My work has a global reach, having advised on rangeland management and monitoring programs in countries such as Ethiopia, Senegal, Mexico, and Colombia. I've also contributed as a technical specialist for international natural resource seminars.

I hold an M.S. from the University of California, Berkeley, and am a California Certified Rangeland Manager (CRM license M99). I also hold a California Qualified Pesticide Applicators Certificate. My commitment to the field is further demonstrated through my active involvement with the Society for Range Management and my service on the California Rangeland Management Advisory Committee (RMAC). I'm ready to apply this deep well of experience to your rangeland needs.
